Hertfordshire Home Safety & Security Service, otherwise known as SAFE, offer the following services:
1) The Home Security Service
This includes supplying and fitting door chains, spy-
Labour is still provided free to all other users but a donation is requested or charge made to cover the cost of materials.
2) Fire safety Checks
Including installing smoke alarms where none are fitted, checking those already in place. Further fire safety support is offered by Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue on 0800 587 3347 to request a check free of charge.
3) The Handy Person Service
Skilled technicians carry out all kinds of jobs around the home that improve safety or make it easier for people to look after themselves in their own home.

WRVS – Good Neighbours – Hertfordshire
An exciting new service that makes a positive difference in the Community.
This service can be used by residents who are housebound because of illness, age or disability, or because they are caring for someone.
WRVS can provide a friendly gardening service using our own tools and CRB checked staff and volunteers. There will be a small charge for this service.

1. Health Centre/GP appointments, Hospital Appointments, Dental or Chiropody Appointments, Hairdressers Appointments.
2. Visiting a friend or relative at their home or in hospital or residential care
3. Attending Lunch Clubs, Day Centres or Social Events
4. Going shopping, to the bank or building society, or carrying out personal business
5. Going to the Library to collect or return books
WRVS volunteers can also:
6. Collect shopping, prescriptions and pensions
7. Provide care and encouragement giving information and advice on other services in the community
8. Complete form filling and letter writing
9. Befriend Clients and provide companionship.
Charge will be at the basic rate of 37 pence per mile to cover the total cost of transport.
